Description: Exterior envelope rehabilitation project at Aberdeen Public School included scaffolding access, tarping for winter works, complete masonry re-pointing, brick replacement, stone repairs including Jahn repairs, pin repairs, Duchman repairs as well as sealant replacement at all windows. Also included rehabilitation to the decorative metal cornice. The cap flashings of the cornice were removed and replaced with new standing steam copper roofing. The backup framing was replaced as required and new fir plywood was installed on the top-sde. The entire cornice was prepared and painted.

City of Kawartha Lakes Phase 1-2

Description: City Hall is a listed Heritage Building with the COKL. This building is one of the three judicial buildings designed by the influential Toronto Architect firm of Frederick Cumberland and William Storm. The building remained operational during all of the restoration work, which included various masonry works, complete slate roof replacement, flat roofing replacement, wood window repair and other miscellaneous works.

Buckhorn Lock 31

Location: Buckhorn, ON | Completion Year: 2017 | Type: Prime Contractor
Description: Lock 31 – Buckhorn is a large solid masonry lock on the historic Trent Severn waterway, one of the busiest locks on the Trent. This project included the installation of an engineered cofferdam and full dewatering of the lock. Once dry, a full review of the masonry walls was conducted with the consultants to determine the full extent of the work. The masonry scope included 100% repointing, stone Dutchman repairs, large scale custom stone replacement, and low pressure grouting of the lock walls.

Description: St. Basil’s Church, built in 1856, is the founding church of the Congregation of St. Basil in Toronto, the college church of St. Michael's College, Toronto, and a parish church serving a large local congregation. The church remained operational during the multi-phased project consisting of full scaffold erection complete with containment, to allow for plaster repairs, surface preparation and painting of walls ceiling and columns.

Victoria Park Armoury Phase 1-2

Description: The Armoury is a listed Heritage building with the City of Kawartha Lakes and is located in the City of Lindsay. The project consisted of two phases with the first being the North Elevation and the second being the South. The building remained operational for the entire project. The scope of work included brick and stone masonry repair/replacement, window replacement, flat and shingle roofing, rough carpentry; interior finishes as well as custom historical sheet lead work.

Spadina Museum

Description: HRI completed two projects at the Historical Spadina Museum located in Toronto, ON. The first project scope included removal and replacement of the cedar shingle roofing system, new gutters and downspouts, as well as wood restoration and painting on the Coach House. The second project included removal and replacement of the cedar shingle roofing system including new gutters, downspouts and associated sheet metal works to the main house.

St. Mary's Church

Location: Toronto, ON | Completion Year: 2015 | Type: Prime Contractor
Description: The historic St Mary’s Church is located at 130 Bathurst Street in Toronto. The church was constructed in 1889 with the tower being finished in 1905. The church is a solid masonry building constructed using buff brick and limestone. Heritage Restoration Inc. completed a wide array of restoration at St Mary’s Church over multiple phases. The scope of work included large scale brick replacements, carved stone replacements, pinnacle replacements, slate roof replacement, copper flashings and sheet-metal cladding, full exterior waterproofing, courtyard landscape stone work, foundation repair and waterproofing, structural upgrades to the roof and foundations, paving, concrete ramps, stairs and steps, new interior and exterior doors as well as complete interior renovations included washrooms, drywall, new pews, painting, tile work, electrical and mechanical. HRI worked as part of a team with the consultant and the owner to provide a high quality finished product that was presented an award from the Architecture conservatory association after its completion.

Regent Theatre

Location: Oshawa, ON | Completion Year: 2013 | Type: Prime Contractor
Description: The Regent Theatre is located in downtown Oshawa and was built in 1913. It is a designated Heritage building with the City and now currently owned by the University. The scope of work included conservation and repair of the remaining heritage plaster elements. From these restored elements the entire theatre ceiling was recreated to match the existing. Although not much of the existing was retained the original elements were incorporated into the existing ceiling to retain as much of the original as possible.
